Why convert WebP to JPG?
WebP is a great format for fast-loading websites, but a surprising number of everyday tools still don't handle it. Microsoft Outlook and Word frequently fail to render inline .webp images, showing a broken-image placeholder instead. Older versions of Adobe Photoshop (before CC 2022) can't open WebP files at all without a plugin. Print shops, embroidery software, and bulk-upload tools on marketplaces like Etsy and eBay commonly reject WebP uploads outright, asking for JPG or PNG specifically. If you've right-clicked "Save Image As" on a website and ended up with a file nothing else will open, that's almost always a WebP file — converting it to JPG fixes the compatibility problem in one step.
JPG has no alpha channel. If your source WebP image has transparent areas, they'll be filled with solid white during conversion. If you need to preserve transparency, use our WebP to PNG converter instead.

Frequently asked questions
Why won't my WebP file open in Outlook or Word?
Microsoft Outlook and Word still don't render inline .webp images in many versions, showing a broken-image icon instead. Converting to JPG guarantees the image displays correctly in Office documents and email clients.
Does converting WebP to JPG lose quality?
There is a small amount of re-compression loss since JPG is also a lossy format, but at 85-95% quality the difference is imperceptible for photos. Use the quality slider to control the tradeoff.
Is this WebP to JPG converter really free and unlimited?
Yes. There's no signup, no watermark, and no daily limit. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using the Canvas API, so there's no server-side processing to meter — see our Privacy Policy for details.
